Who I am!

Nice to meet you! Hi, I’m Brendan Carpenter.

In 2016 when I started my running journey, I never knew how far it would take me. I just was looking for a new challenge and wanted to check something off my bucket list.

Since then it has become my passion. You never knew what you can accomplish until you actually put your mind to it, so I put fearing failure behind and started fearing regret more.

I was once a 360lb guy who didn’t have an ounce of motivation, until I got kicked off a Roller Coaster for not fitting in the seat. I first started my weight loss journey in 2011 and lost over 160lbs over the next 5 years. I was stuck in a plateau and came across running. I didn’t know how therapeutic and important it would become when I started, when at the start I struggled mightily and couldn’t even run for a single minute.

Through that experience I calloused my mind and turned to running as a challenge every day since and haven’t looked back. Remember if it doesn’t challenge you, it won't change you.

My Mission

My mission is to help you become the best version and runner of yourself that you can be. For the longest time when I started to run, I didn’t believe I was a runner. Overtime I realized that running is a very inclusive sport and that you ARE a runner as long as you lace up your running shoes.

I started to run just as a challenge to myself. I couldn’t run for even a minute straight, I had no idea what I was doing but I knew I liked the challenge. From not being able to run a minute to now being able to call myself a two time marathoner and ambassador for Saucony, I want to help you embrace that same challenge.

I want to help you level up and help you make the impossible possible. We will be following the VDOT02 plans that have been around for years. You’ll get 1:1 coaching and a weekly running plan that will take you to that next step. I’ll help you understand why we are doing that type of run, why were are doing it and why each type of run has it’s place in helping you improve as a runner and go from point A to point B faster than you ever have.

What I’ve Achieved

  • Before I started my running journey I lost over 160lbs naturally.

  • 5K PB of 18:47. This one means a lot as the first full distance I ever ran was a 5k and it took over 40 minutes.

  • 10K PB of 38:20. Took home my first ever victory in this race.

  • 15K PB of 59:56 at the Ajax Waterfront Race.

  • HM PB of 1:28. Have worked my way down to this from my first ever half in 2017 (1:34).

  • Marathon PB of 3:18. Ran in Chicago, my first major marathon experience is only just the beginning. Berlin 2022 is up next.

  • Worked with companies like Saucony, Aftershokz, Coros, Endurance Tap, Nuun, LMNT and many others.

  • Coached with Runners Life PTBO & with Lululemon PTBO as the run club leader.
